Our polyglycerol esters make skin feel fantastic, thanks to their marked substantivity. Polyglycerol esters do not irritate the skin, as they do not cause any denaturing of the skin’s proteins. Depending on the type, they have a non roughening to smoothing effect on the skin and regulate humidity. Our polyglycerol esters meet the requirements of modern cosmetic ingredients, such as:
- PEG-free
- can be used cold
- non-nitrosamine forming
- good biodegradability
- toxicologically safe
- based on native raw materials

O/W Emulsifiers
The use of hydrophile polyglycerol esters gives an outstanding, non-sticky feeling to the skin. The liquid form allows the O/W emulsifiers to be processed cold, enabling the manufacture of lotions in spray form.
Polyglycerol esters are ideal raw materials for natural cosmetics. They meet the criteria for these products, such as being “PEG-free”.
W/O Emulsifiers
These high-performance emulsifiers enable the manufacture of especially light and easily spreadable W/O emulsions with a water content of up to 75 %.
The high substantivity of the polyglycerol esters results in a superior skin feeling which can be compared with the results obtained using silicon oil.
These light W/O emulsions break down on the skin. The oil phase produces an occlusive layer that creates an underlying moisture chamber effect. These properties are ideal for the manufacture of moisturizing formulations.
The liquid form allows the W/O emulsifiers to be processed cold. Concentrations of just 2.5 % are effective, and most emulsions can be manufactured without the addition of a co-emulsifier.

Solubilisers
These polyglycerol esters are PEG-free, nonionic surfactants with a good solubilising effect especially for essential oils. They can be used with all anionic and non-ionic surfactants. The liquid form is easy to process.
The polyglycerol ester solubilisers have high substantivity and a skin-smoothening effect, resulting in skin that feels fantastic. Hydrior‘s solubilisers add to the formulations some cleansing effect thanks to their surface activity.
Additives, Thickeners, Moisturizers
HYDRIOL® PGCL.3 is a liquid, PEG-free thickener and moisturizer, also intended for use in non-ethoxylated surfactant systems. It creates a finely-bubbling, creamy foam, especially when combined with anionic surfactants.
HYDRIOL® PGCL.3 leaves a wonderful skin feeling, thanks to its high substantivity and skin smoothening effect. When used in shampoos, its antistatic effect improves combability and prevents fly-away hair.
Used in formulations, HYDRIOL® PGCL.3 exhibits very good thickening properties, which result in good thermostable viscosity. The formulations are non-stringy. HYDRIOL® PGCL.3 is soluble in all known surfactant systems. It solidifies below 4 °C and can therefore be processed cold.
Oil Thickeners
EasyTens® X1 is a naturally-derived thickening agent for oils and is able to thicken a wide variety of natural oils such as sunflower, olive and rapeseed oil leading to transparent jellies.
Due to the excellent emulsifying properties of EasyTens® X1 formulations containing more than 15% can be simply rinsed of with water leaving a smooth skin feel without stickiness or greasiness.
High foaming surfactants
HYDRIOL® CLA and HYDRIOL® CLA Pure are sulfate-free and PEG-free anionic surfactants in liquid form. Because of its mildness HYDRIOL® CLA is the ideal foaming ingredient for the use in baby shampoos, intimate wash products, body scrubs and facial cleansers. HYDRIOL® CLA Pure is an ideal foaming agent for solid shampoo bars or shampoo concentrates thanks to its water-free form.
